Beyond providing privacy and a way to filter light, installing faux wood blinds is an inexpensive way to dress up any window in your home. They are available in a wide variety of sizes, styles and colors to complement your décor. All too often, however, you may end up purchasing blinds that are a little too long. The result is a puddle of slats sitting on top of the windowsill when the blinds are closed.

Jay makes it look so easy because it really is. In a few minutes, with nothing more than a few simple tools, including a pair of scissors or a utility knife, a flathead screwdriver and a Sharpie, you can customize the length of your blinds to hang at the perfect length for your window.
